I'm bored tonight, restless, and don't want to be at work. I'd much rather be reimaging my home PC, getting WoW installed, shopping for beautiful yarns to go with the completely awesome lacy sweater patterns I found, etc. I can think about 9 million things I'd rather do than type one more damned delivery summary.

I'm also feeling ennui in general; I keep thinking about just staying at home for the next couple of days. It's a mess, and could use some serious attention, including the sewing/craft room. I have 3-4 projects in my head, but no space in which to realize them. I'm feeling as though I want David to show an interest in spending time with me, and know that is completely my own stuff - he does, he said as much tonight. I'm just not feeling worthy of attention.

There's probably some crappy, underlying depressive stuff, but I don't even have the energy to dig at that right now. Some of it is J&V moving; some of it is trying to support Bill through that, because I know it's a lot harder on him than it is on me.

Well, it's almost lunch time, and then I can sit here and knit for a while. <lj:music>the whirring of mom's dishwasher</lj:music>

So, at about 1 p.m. tomorrow, Central time, I leave to go back home. Mom and I are both sad; it's been a mixed-bag kind of trip. I got to spend much-needed time with folks I love, including Mom, John, Jeni, John B., Martin, Magenta and Mark. Mark was super sweet and remembered to share water with me again last night. I was really touched. It sounds like things in his life are going pretty well; I'm glad, he deserves it. I also had a great time with Jeni, laughing, being myself. John B. is super cuddly, and took good care of me today, even though I was feeling pretty crappy and I had hoped we'd get some alone time.

John is so weakened and depressed. He doesn't look good, and it's really hard on my poor mom. Tonight, just as an example, I could tell that she was really drawn-and-quartered between spending time with John and caring for him, and spending time with me on my last night. He had endoscopy on Thursday of last week and the doctor really bashed the hell out of his mouth, took a bunch of biopsies. He said it looked good, that the area of the former mass (which didn't show on the latest CT) was soft and pliable, indicating that the mass is gone. We should have biopsy results tomorrow, so I'm saying my prayers.

Bill has been busy, busy, it sounds like, getting the house more organized and easier to live in. I'm anxious to see all that he's done around the house :) Meanwhile, poor Kat has been really sick, and I'd love to be there, taking care of her, keeping Emily out of her hair so that she can sleep and get to feeling better.

It's so hard to go home, and yet so hard to be here, too. It'll be really nice to be back amongst my chosen family, but mom and I are getting along so well that it's also really sad to leave here.

So, I'm having a rough night, split in two about where I want to be and should be right now.

My entrelac knitting project is going a lot more smoothly than I anticipated; my bag may well be done when I get home. I'm also knitting a cute pair of socks for Emily, that I think will tickle her, since I have a pair made from the same yarn. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get her to keep something on her feet for more than few minutes. Three-year-olds are such little nudists by nature :)

<lj:music>... the whir of office machinery and a too-loud air vent</lj:music>

I wasn't going to do this from work - I really need to become a paid subscriber so that I can post by phone :)

I got to work tonight, and around 3 a.m. went off to lunch and found that Little Miss Nudginator had put a note in my lunch. And not just any note, but like the sweetest little note in the whole world. And yes, in the lunch that she had packed for me, with cookies, chips and the world's greatest Mexican lasagna. Heh. And the girl says she can't cook. Yum. So, fortunately I'm the only one here tonight, cuz I prolly looked pretty stupid, crying (tears of being touched and overjoyed) over the note in the lunchroom at 3:10 a.m.

Life is okay - busy, hectic, but okay. I guess John's doing enough better that he's talking about going back to work. Mom doesn't seem too hot on the idea, but I can understand that he is probably sick to death of sitting around at home with mom paying far too much attention to him. LOL. I got in trouble at work this week, and it resulted in my production going from 100 lines an hour to over 300; that'll work for me - means a lot more money. Besides, being in the office really doesn't suck, gives my day a little more continuity.

Okay, so back to typity typity. Thanks for "listening".
So, I'm all excited about my trip to Michigan this coming week. We're planning to leave Sunday after Bill gets off work at 10 a.m. I look at the schedule, and I'm listed as working Sunday night/Monday morning, from 1-5 a.m. My vacation request clearly asked for August 15-20th off, and well, 1-5 a.m. on Monday is the 15th, right? So, since the person who usually does schedules is on personal leave, I contacted her supervisor, the director, who sent back a scathing, sarcastic e-mail about how she can't get coverage with this little notice, etc., and "Thank you. Enjoy your PLT." Then, a few minutes later, the manager who is on call this weekend sends out a request for someone to work Sunday night/Monday morning from 1-5 a.m. Next, I get an e-mail from the director, demanding that I forward her the approved PLT request.

I so don't like being fucked with. All I asked for was 40 hours of PLT, which I've earned. Fuck. I fear this will put me on the "list" of people to be watched for any minor infractions so I can be written up.

Getting ready to go on vacation is stressful enough; I certainly didn't need this fucking crap. :(

There will be a limited number of items for sale, but mostly it'll be a celebration of my new acceptance that I am not just crafty, I'm not just a fair seamstress, but am truly an artist. (You can spell that with an e, if you must, and capitalize it if you care.)

I hope you can make it to my party :)

Love,
Tam

I got a sweet e-mail from Bikeboy tonight. He told me he was proud of me for having stayed away from Minnesota for so long :) He'd really like to not be there now, I think. In catching him up, I told him:

I'm having a Really Fucking Bad Week (TM). On Monday night, I got really fed up with Pam, who was pushing my buttons. I kicked her out. I don't know if it's repairable. I am still pretty angry, 3 days later, which is uncommon for me. She and I won't get to talk, face-to-face, until next Thursday, since Bill and I are going to West Point to visit his family for Xmas. It might be good for me to have that much cooling off time; it might also be bad, in terms of our long-term relationship prognosis, for me to get to stew until then.

I moved to North Carolina in August, 2000. I couldn't have done it without Bill, who has been my greatest supporter and biggest fan. I'm a lot more "whole" than I ever was without him. Interestingly, now that I'm in a mostly healthy poly relationship, I find that I don't really NEED to be poly. I could easily "settle" into monogamy with him, as he meets almost all of my sexual needs. However, because our relationship is healthy and feeds us both, our being polyamorous is a "bonus". We have other loves. We are open and honest with one another about our wants, needs, desires, and that inspires us to seek relationships with others that follow those same tenets.

Yeah, I think I may just do that. Y'all can cum^h^h^h join if you want.

*sigh*

There is an LJ that I in the name mariamne, created back when denny and I were first physically together, when things were incredibly angsty with Jackson and Vivien. I guess this is mariamne's coming out. I thought about moving all of those entries to this journal and then making that my journal for artsy accomplishments. I may still make that my journal for artsy accomplishment and leave the old, angsty stuff there :)

I'm thankful that a year or so later, I can own all of this and that these people are all still a part of my life, mostly in much healthier ways.
